Dorm Rooms (Residence Halls):

1.) What would you have liked to know about them?

2.) Would you recommend rooming with friend?

3.) If you have a double person room would you want a bunk bed? Or two singles?

4.) Location, which rooms are typically the best? (Corner?)

5.) Is it noisy, or  quiet?

What can you tell us from experience?

(1)     It would have been nice to have more information about each one and the atmosphere's/location of them from someone on campus. You have to rate what one you want the most and really you have no idea when you're filling out the application.

(2)     I would recommend living with a random person, honestly. You can change after a quarter if you hate it

and you are more likely to meet different people and make new friends when you're not living with someone you know.

(3)    Two singles. I slept on a bunk bed and it sucked. The rooms are big enough honestly to have the two beds and you can loft your bed to put your desk under if you are stressed about space.\

(4)     I had a corner room and it was no different than any other room besides that you have one less neighboring room to deal with. Less noise issues is nice.

(5)     Depends on your dorm. My dorm floor was co-ed and CRAZY. Imagine a giant hotel floor with a bunch of 18 year old boys and girls...loud to say the least.

(6)     Be open. You will be living next to people you can't stand, people who cling to you like there's no tomorrow, and friends you'll have forever. My best friends now are from the dorms and I had an amazing time living there. I wouldn't necessarily want to do it all over again, but I really loved it when I was there. Be patient and laugh off everything.
