Introduction:  College!

College: an institution of higher education that grants degrees, as a bachelor's degree after a four-year course or an associate degree after a two-year course: it is sometimes the undergraduate division of a university

For some of us, it's right around the corner. There are students who are stressing out about SAT scores and AP Exams and then there are those who could care less. Some things people might be thinking about are what colleges they should go to, what majors to study, the cost of living and books, what the campus is like, etc. We know it's a little bit scary and that preparing for college can be a stressful thing to think about, however, we are here to help. This site was developed by our group to give students advice about colleges.

Advice:

Here is a table illustrating some of the questions interviewed in this link: Collected Questions

  • Make sure to know all the admission requirements for each college you're thinking about applying to.
  • Always keep transcripts on hand to use for scholarship applications.
  • Keep a folder with copies of transcripts, award letters, recommendation letters, acceptance letters, etc.
  • Turn in your necessary financial aid application on time.
  • Ask for updated reports from teacher/counselors.
  • Narrow your choices before applying.
  • Research, ask questions, and listen to others' opinions before making your decisions.
  • Visit the campus of the colleges you're interested in.
  • Schedule and be prepared for your interviews with colleges.
  • Make a list of items you will need for college. (Needs/Wants List)
  • If possible, get to know your roommate before hand.
  • In college the professors will not babysit anyone, so its important to stay on top of your own homework.
  • Most college grades are based on exams and projects rather than daily homework.
  • Sit in the front seats of a lecture hall to prevent sleeping, and to get to know the professor better.
  • College like high school, provides a lot of extracurricular activities. Join them and stay involved in more than just your studies.
  • DON'T PROCRASTINATE!

There are many points to consider when applying to college. Don't stress out, get to work early on the applications, and succeed in making it into that dream college. Just remember: Think Logically.

As 2009 graduate Trang Tran puts it "Do's - Work hard and get involved. Dont's - Don't be [a slacker]."

I think the interviews are helpful, but just an idea maybe more generalized? like we can incorporate all of the questions and different answers from different people, in a larger sense. or maybe just show more separate interviews with more people like mrs. b and ms. m today, and keep going in this format. all in all, i think no matter how we get it across the information will be available and appreciated. i searched online for some helpful tips, advice, etc. but came up mostly empty handed due to lots of specified questions like "what do i need to bring to college?" and stuff. I think a better source for advice is from those who are soon to attend college, those who are currently and those who have. I linked a page that i thought may be helpful and informational, and if need be i can search more online.

Your idea isa good one, but I think we should stick to the table and graph for faster access. Then we can put the interviews down below before the summary paragraph that wraps it all up. For right now, lets post all the interviews by tonight and get them up so I can work on it, if anyone wants to help me with the graph (Not summary) that would be a big help.

Hey Jess,Ben or Eddie...I would suggest that we do links for the different interviews or maybe color coordinate them? =)

Ok, at the moment I revamped the style of the interviews and added the other two. I am going to upload my table and summary in a bit when I get back.

Also, try not alternating fonts on the interviews, it's kinda hard to read. Stick with the simpler one (i think it's arial)

No I haven't really been, I was just up late collecting data from here and stuff. I am about to fix that font issue, I think it needs fixed.

Time for a lame word: Shazam! Uploaded my table and summary, edited some stuff, added to the intro a little, and moved the websites to the end due to the fact that they seem like a "Hey, you're done with our page! Go distract yourself with these people's pages if we aren't that good enough for you!" Yeah, so um, headache... Yeah, didn't notice that. So I am done, we are done.

Love (maybe), Eddie

So I am guessing you fixed it all? Wow, major thanks. I am so dead right now. I will just look over the page and see if anything should be done.
